Vintage 1950-1960 Omega Hand wound
€525.00
For Sale: Vintage Swiss Classic – Omega Manual Wind (1950s)
Up for sale is a true piece of watchmaking history—an elegant, manual-wind men's Omega wristwatch crafted around the 1950s. This timepiece is a perfect example of why vintage watches are soaring in popularity today. Over the decades, the dial has developed a natural, unique spotted patina, giving it a distinctive character and authenticity that simply cannot be replicated in a modern factory.
Considering its age of over 70 years, the watch has been very well preserved. It features a classic stainless steel case alongside elegant hands and hour markers.
Technical specifications:
Year: circa 1950–1960.
Case size: circa 35.5 mm diameter (wears larger on the wrist due to the extended lug-to-lug distance)
Case material: Stainless steel
Movement: Manual wind (hand-wound)
Dial: Original, featuring raised Arabic numerals at 3-6-9-12 and a beautiful vintage patina
The biggest highlight for any prospective buyer is that the watch has been fully tested on a timegrapher. For a vintage piece of this age, the readings are remarkably strong and stable:
Accuracy (RATE): -12s/d – excellent stability for a 70-year-old movement, making it perfectly suitable even for daily wear.
Amplitude (AMP.): circa 214° – a completely healthy and functional reading for a vintage mainspring.
Beat Error: a mere 0.2ms.
What is included: The sale is for the watch only, paired with a high-quality black leather strap (no box or papers). Mechanically, the watch is in good working order, running well, and winding smoothly. It features an original crown. The crystal does not have the Omega logo and shows minor hairline scratches, which can be polished out if desired.
